Guru Ravidas Jayanti: The day marks the birth of Ravidas a renowned poet of the Bhakti movement during the 15-16 centuries. A poet, saint, the social and spiritual figure was the founder of the Ravidassia religion. His origins are not correctly known but many scholars believe that he was born to a cobbler family and he gained recognition solely because of his staunch belief in god. His devotional songs are included in the Sikh scriptures – Guru Granth Sahib (Adi Granth). His birthday falls on the full moon during Magh Maas as per the Hindu lunar calendar. He preached equality among the people and explained that people should not make differences on the basis of caste and creed and there is only one superpower and that is God. A procession will be taken out on this day to celebrate the day apart from a special aarti for the guru will be performed. His devotional songs had a major impact on the Bhakti Movement in India. On this day reciting Amritbani Guru Ravidassji will be held in a ritualistic manner followed by a special aarti for the beloved Guru Ravidassji.

Maha Shivaratri: It is Hindu festival. It is celebrated in honour of Lord Shiva. The ancient Sthaneshwar Mahadev Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva is situated in the Kurukshetra district of Haryana.

It was here that the Pandavas along with Krishna prayed to Lord Shiva and received his blessings for victory in the battle of Mahabharata. It is also believed that Lord Shiva was first worshipped in the form of a lingam in Sthaneshwar Mahadev Temple.
