Bank Holidays in Telangana in February

All the banks including Syndicate Bank, Federal Bank, IndusInd Bank and Axis Bank will remain closed on the bank holidays.

Sammakka Saralamma Jatara: The Sammakka Saralamma Jatara is held once every two years. The fair is a tribal gathering which is held to commemorate the fight of a mother and daughter against the reigning rulers. Sammakka was known for her bravery and she fought valiantly and made the enemy Kakatiya forces go on a run after her family perished in the war. The then Kakatiya ruler was smitten by her bravery and offered peace and a position to be the Chief Queen of the Kakatiya but she refused the position to avenge her dead family. It is believed that she disappeared into the forest after sustaining severe injuries and promised her followers that she will look after them as long as they remember her. To mark her valour and boldness, people conduct fairs once every two years.

There will be no bank holiday on the occasion of Sammakka Saralamma Jatara and all the banks will function as usual on this day.
