In January, the Bihar government announced holidays on the following days. January 14, the second week of Saturday as a Bank Holiday; January 26, on account of Republic Day and Vasant Panchami and January 28, the fourth week of Saturday as a Bank Holiday.

All the banks in Bihar will remain closed on the above-mentioned days. The banks will not perform the usual functioning on these days. All the banks including Standard Chartered Bank, HDFC Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Karur Vysya Bank will remain closed on the bank holidays.
Republic Day: It is a National festival. The day is celebrated to mark the adoption of the Constitution of India replacing the Government of India Act of 1935. The Constitution of India was drafted under the leadership of Dr B.R. Ambedkar. On this day the Governor of the state unfurls the tricolour flag in the presence of state-level ministers and other dignitaries. This will be followed by honouring the brave hearts for showcasing their real talent and cultural programmes. Many people mainly youth and children participate in the programme. The police personnel perform a march past in front of the large gathering. The trained batch of police bands who are trained by experts performs musical instruments in the event on this day.
Vasant Panchami: Vasant Panchami also called Sri-Pancham is a sacred day dedicated to Saraswati, the goddess of learning whose worship is celebrated with great splendour by students and artists. There is no bank holiday in Haryana on account of Vasant Panchami and all the banks will function as usual on this day.
