Bank Holidays in January 2024 in Haryana

In January, the Haryana government announced holidays on the following days. In January, there will be four bank holidays in Haryana. January 13 and January 27 will be bank holidays in Haryana due to 2nd Saturday and 4th Saturday. Meanwhile, January 17, Monday will be a Bank Holiday on account of Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti. January 26, Friday will be a bank holiday on account of Republic Day in Haryana.

Bank Holidays in Haryana during January

All the banks in Haryana will remain closed on the days mentioned above. The banks will not perform the usual functioning on these days. All the banks including Canara Bank, Bank of Baroda, Federal Bank, and City Union Bank will remain closed on the bank holidays.

Republic Day: It is a National holiday. India’s constitution which was earlier adopted on November 26, 1949, literally came into effect on January 26, 1950, and hence the day is celebrated as Republic Day across the country. On this day personnel from home guards, NCC, and Police will participate in parades which will be held at the district headquarters. Apart from this, school students will also enthral the audience will colourfulprogrammes followed by tableaux exhibition wherein different states will be exhibited in the parade ceremony.

Vasant Panchami: Vasant Panchami also called Sri-Pancham is a sacred day dedicated to Saraswati, the goddess of learning whose worship is celebrated with great splendour by students and artists. There is no bank holiday in Haryana on account of Vasant Panchami and all the banks will function as usual on this day.
