In January, banks will remain closed for more than 6 days in Manipur. Apart from regular bank holidays i..e Sundays and second and fourth Saturdays, banks in Manipur will also remain closed on January 1, January 4, and January 26 on account of New Year's Day, Gaan-Ngai, and Republic Day. Apart from gazetted holidays as mentioned in the RBI Holiday calendar, there are several regional holidays when banks remain closed in several states. Bank Holidays in Manipur during January

All the banks in Manipur will remain closed on the above-mentioned days. The banks will not perform the usual functioning on these days. All the banks including Axis Bank, SBI, City Union Bank, and Indian Bank will remain closed on the bank holidays.

Republic Day: It is a National Festival. The main celebrations take place in Red Fort, Delhi. Apart from this all the state governments also celebrate the event with good spirits by organizing several cultural activities. The day marks the adoption of the Constitution of India to govern the country replacing the previously followed Government of India Act of 1935. India adopted the Constitution on November 26, 1949, and the same came into effect starting from January 26, 1950, and hence Republic Day is observed on January 26 on an annual basis. The Governor of the state hoists the tricolor flag on this day. Several gallantry awards will be honored to the policemen and brave hearts for their courageous acts on this day.

Many youth and school children will perform cultural activities to mark the event. Renowned musicians will pay tribute to the nation through their performances which will be attended by a huge gathering on this day.
