Republic Day: It is a national festival. January 26 was chosen to celebrate Republic Day because in 1930 on this day the Indian National Congress declared Purna Swaraj from the British Regime in India. The governor of the state will unfurl the national flag and this will be followed by a brief speech from the dignitaries and children from various schools will exhibit various cultural programmes displaying the culture and tradition of the country. Gallantry awards will be handed over to brave hearts including policemen, civilians and children who exhibit their extraordinary skills during tough situations.
