Bank Holidays in Rajasthan during January

All the banks in Rajasthan will remain closed on the above-mentioned days. The banks will not perform the usual functioning on these days. All the banks including Bandhan Bank, Federal Bank, UCO Bank and Indian Bank will remain closed on the bank holidays.

Republic Day: It is a National festival. On this day the Constitution of India came into effect replacing the previously followed Government of India Act of 1935 as the governing document of India. The country adopted the Constitution on November 26, 1949, and the same came into effect starting from January 26, 1950. The Constitution was drafted under the leadership of Dr B.R. Ambedkar.

Republic Day was chosen to be celebrated on January 26 because on this day in the year 1930 the Indian National Congress declared Purna Swaraj from the colonial British Rule in India. The Governor of the State unfurls the tricolour flag in the presence of various dignitaries. Awards will be honoured to policemen and others for their acts of bravery on this day. Several cultural activities will be conducted on this day to mark the day.
