Bank Holidays in Uttar Pradesh during January

All the banks in Uttar Pradesh will remain closed on the above-mentioned days. The banks will not perform the usual functioning on these days. All the banks including Canara Bank, Deutsche Bank, Indian Bank and Union Bank of India will remain closed on the bank holidays in Uttar Pradesh.

Hajarat Ali's Birthday: The government of Uttar Pradesh has declared a holiday on the occasion of Hajrat Ali's birth anniversary. Hajarat Ali was the cousin and only son-in-law of Muhammad, the prophet of Islam. He is regarded as the actual successor of the prophet Muhammad.

Republic Day: It is a National Holiday. The day marks the adoption of the Constitution of India replacing the previously followed Government of India Act 1935. January 26 was chosen to celebrate Republic Day because in 1930 on this day the Indian National Congress declared Purna Swaraj from the British Regime in India. The Governor of Uttar Pradesh will unfurl the tricolour flag during the ceremony. Various personnel from the police and National Cadet Corps will participate in the march past session. The Governor will honour the heroes who show their bravery on this day with Bravery Awards. Apart from this medals will be awarded to the policemen, civilians and children for their exceptional courage.
