During these two days, there will be no banking transactions at the branch level across all the banks in Chhattisgarh. During these two days, the nationalized banks, and public and private sector banks will remain closed.
Muharram: It is a Muslim festival. It is considered the first month of the Islamic calendar. The word Moharum means forbidden. People observe fast on this day. It is one of the four sacred months as per the Islamic calendar. The tenth day of Moharram is the Day of Ashura. It is celebrated to pay respect to the grandson of Prophet Mohammed, Hazrat Imam Hussain. The festival is celebrated in remembrance of the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain.
