The second week and the fourth week of Saturday are considered central government holidays. On these two days, all the banks including Axis Bank, Indian Bank, and Federal Bank will remain closed. There will be no banking transactions at the branch level on these two days.

Bonalu: Bonalu is a special kind of dance that originated in Andhra Pradesh in honour of the Mother Goddess. The Bonalu Dance derives origin from the ritual practice of paying homage to the Lord Mother Goddess for a splendid harvest and dancing to honour her. The word Bonalu means food, and the festival owes its origin to the mother word Bhojanalu. During this dance festival offering is made to the mother Goddess. People cherish the bliss of a splendid harvest and dance in order to pay homage to the Mother Goddess. Therefore Bonalu is a significant form of ritual dance in Andhra Pradesh. The banks will function normally during the Bonalu festival.

Bakrid: Eid–ul-Adha is also called Bakrid. The day is celebrated to honour Prophet Abraham. It is believed that Abraham was a great devotee of God and he was tested for the same. He was asked to sacrifice his only son. Abraham or Ibrahim followed the command of God and was ready to sacrifice his son. Later, God intervened and during the act, a lamb was sacrificed instead of Ibrahim’s son. The day is marked by sacrificing an animal or lamb and is divided into three parts.

One share is kept for the family and the remaining will be shared with the poor and needy people.
