Bank Holidays in Lakshadweep during March 2024

Apart from regular holidays, two regional bank holidays that will be observed in Lakshadweep in March 2024 include:

March 8 - Sivarathri

March 29 - Good Friday

The second week and the fourth week of Saturdays are declared as Bank Holidays. It is a Central government holiday. All the nationalized banks, and public and private sector banks in Lakshadweep remain closed on those two days across the country.

Thus, if banks in other states are open on a certain date in the month of March, it is not necessary that banks in Lakshadweep will also remain open on that day. During these bank holidays in Lakshadweep, the banks are closed. As per an understanding between the Indian Banks' Association and All India Bank Employees Association, all public sector banks in Lakshadweep and other states of India are closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month.
