Bank Holidays in March 2024 in Tripura

In March, the Tripura government for 2024 have announced around five days as bank holidays excluding Sundays during March. Public and bank holidays are on the occasion of Maha Shivratri on March 8th; March 9th, the Second week of Saturday as a Bank Holiday; March 23rd, as the fourth week of Saturday; March 25th, on account of Holi festival and March 29th, on account of Good Friday is declared as bank holiday in Tripura for 2024.

All the banks including ICICI Bank, Federal Bank, Dena Bank and Syndicate Bank will remain closed on the second week and fourth week of Saturday in Tripura. People can choose to visit some of best landscapes, sceneries, natural beauty and snow capped hill tops of the state during their public and bank holidays in Tripura.

Maha Shivaratri: It is a Hindu festival that is associated with Lord Shiva, one of the prime devas of Hindu mythology. It is an annual festival which falls on the Hindu calendar month of Phalguna 13th night and 14th day of every lunar month. Lord Shiva is considered the god of destruction and regeneration. This festival falls usually in February or March as per the English or western calendar. The auspicious day is celebrated across many states in India. On this day, people observe fast throughout the day and during the night they will remain awake chanting bhajans, visiting temples, listening to keertanas and so on. Many people throng to temples dedicated to Lord Shiva on this day. The Maheshwaram temple located at a distance of about 50 kilometres from Secunderabad is a major attraction on this day. The temple is believed to be over 350 years old and is built on the pushkarani called Shiva Ganga which pilgrims can opr to visit during bank holidays in Tripura

Holi: The government of Tripura has declared a holiday on the occasion of Holi.

A day after Holika Dahan, Holi is celebrated across the country with pomp and splendour. Holi is a Hindu spring festival; it is also known as the festival of colours. It is also observed as a thanksgiving for a good harvest. People smear each other with colours and drench each other in the water.

Good Friday: It is a day when Christians commemorate Jesus Christ's crucifixion. According to the Bible, the son of God was flogged, ordered to carry the cross on which he would be crucified and then put to death. It is a national holiday which tourist can prefer to visit during while exploring Tripura.
