In May, the government of Karnataka declared May 01 as holiday on account of May Day/Labour Day and May 10, 2024 as bank holiday on account of BasavaJanyanthi. Banks will also remain closed on May 11, 2nd Saturday and May 25, 4th Saturday.

During the 2nd week and 4thweek of Saturday, all banks including Kotak Mahindra Bank, Punjab and Sind Bank, Jammu and Kashmir Bank and IDFC Bank will remain closed in Karnataka.

It was also the first time; the red flag was used in India. In Karnataka, it is called KarmikaraDinacharane. It is a Bank Holiday in Karnataka and on this day all the banks will remain closed.
