Despite good number of bank holidays in Telangana for the previous month, the government of Telangana has declared only two holidays for March 2024. A holiday on May 11, the second week of Saturday as Bank Holiday and on May 27, the fourth week of Saturday as a Bank Holiday. There are no festive holidays declared and the second week and the fourth week of Saturday is a central government holidays, and all the banks will remain closed on this day in Telangana.

All the banks including Tamilnad Mercantile Bank Limited, Lakshmi Vilas Bank, DCB Bank and Catholic Syrian Bank will remain closed on all the bank holidays.
Buddha Purnima: It is a Buddhist festival. The day is considered the sacred day in the Buddhist calendar. It falls on the first full moon in the fourth month of the Chinese lunar calendar. The people who follow Buddhism celebrate the day with great pomp and festivities. It is believed that on this day, Buddha was born, attained nirvana and attained (parinirvana nirvana after the death of the body).
On this day, people dress up in white clothes and give out kheer. As the mythological story reveals that a woman named Sujata had once offered kheer to Gautam Buddha on his birthday and since then it has become a tradition.
