Bank Holidays in Madhya Pradesh during November

In November, except for regular holidays, banks will function as normal days in the state. One should always keep track of the bank holiday calendar 2024, so that your financial tasks are completed on time.

All the banks including ICICI Bank, DCB Bank, Federal Bank and Tamilnad Mercantile Bank Limited will remain closed on bank holidays in Madhya Pradesh.

The state of Madhya Pradesh is located right in the middle of the country, which is why it is called "Madhya", which means central. It is the second-largest state in India, in terms of land area. The state is of great historical importance as it was the seat for the Mauryas, Guptas, and a host of other Rajput kings. On a bank holiday in Madhya Pradesh, you can visit various tourist hotspots like the popular Kanha National Park, Van Vihar National Park, Bandhavgarh National Park, Indore, Jabalpur, Gwalior, and Ujjain. Hindi is the official language of the state, though there is a significant number of people who also speak Marathi.

In the month of November, banks will remain closed for six days. The days when banks will remain closed in Madhya Pradesh include:

November 3-  Sunday

November 10 - Sunday

November 15- Guru Nanak’s Birthday, Birsa Munda Jayanti

November 16 - Saturday

November 17- Sunday

November 24 - Sunday

November 30- Saturday

Apart from regional holidays, Madhya Pradesh has regional holidays. Thus, if banks in other states are open on a certain date it is not necessary that banks in Madhya Pradesh will also remain open on that day.

During these bank holidays in Madhya Pradesh, the banks are closed. As per an understanding between the Indian Banks' Association and All India Bank Employees Association, all public sector banks in Madhya Pradesh and other states of India are closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month.

In Madhya Pradesh, bank holidays do not mean people will not have access to net banking facilities. Even when banks are closed people can conduct financial transactions via online mode.

Diwali: It is a Hindu festival which has been declared as a State Holiday. It is also referred to as the Festival of Lights. The five-day festival begins with Dhanteras and ends with Bhaidooj. People begin preparations for this festival months in advance by cleaning and whitewashing their houses. People wake up early in the morning, take an oil bath, adorn themselves in new clothes, perform Lakshmi Ganesh Puja on Diwali, exchange gifts, and decorate their homes with diyas. Folk dances will be performed during the festival. Baiga and Gond tribes perform traditional dances to mark the festive spirit. Many types of mouth-watering desserts like Barfi, Khasta, Ladoos, Ghazak, and Balushahi will be prepared.
