October 2, on account of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti; October 14, the second week of Saturday as a Bank Holiday; October 18, on account of Kati Bihu; October 21, on account of Maha Saptami; October 22; on account of Maha Ashtami; October 23, on account of Navami of Durga Puja; October 24, on account of Vijaya Dashami and Janmotsav of Srimatna Sankardev; October 28, the fourth week of Saturday as Bank Holiday.

All the banks in Assam will remain closed on the days as mentioned above. The banks will not perform the usual functioning these days. All the banks including YES Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Punjab & Sind Bank, and RBL Bank will remain closed during the bank holidays.
Durga Puja: It is a Hindu festival. The festival falls during the Navratri (9 nights). Durga Puja is also known as Durgotsava. It is celebrated in a grand manner for a period of five days. Pandals will be set up in many places in the urban areas. People throng the pandals to offer prayer and homage to Goddess Durga. The festival is mainly dedicated to Goddess Durga. People visit temples during the daytime and offer prayer to Maa Durga by seeking her blessings and during the evening, they visit pandals that are set up to display the huge idols of Goddess Durga.
