In October, the Rajasthan government announced holidays on the following days. October 2, on account of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti; October 15, on account of Maharaja Agrasen Jayanti; October 14, the second week of Saturday as a Bank Holiday; October 22, on account of Durga Ashtami; October 24, on account of Vijaya Dashami; October 28, the fourth week of Saturday as Bank Holiday.

All the banks in Rajasthan will remain closed on the above-mentioned days. The banks will not perform the usual functioning these days. All the banks including Canara Bank, IndusInd Bank, RBL Bank, and Dhanlaxmi Bank will remain closed during the bank holidays.
Mahalaya: It is a period of 16 days in the Hindu calendar wherein Hindus pay homage to their ancestors by performing certain rituals and offering food. It falls in the second paksha during the Hindu lunar month of Bhadrapada maasa. The period is considered to be inauspicious, as only the death rites of ancestors will be performed during this period. During this period all the banks will function normally and there will be no holiday.
Maharaja Agrasen Jayanti: Maharaja Agrasen Jayanti is a regional public holiday in Rajasthan. It is usually observed on the fourth day of Ashwin, the seventh month in the Hindu calendar. The day marks the birth anniversary of the legendary Hindu king, Agrasen Maharaj. He was born to King Vallabh and belonged to the Suryavanshi Kshatriya dynasty.
Dusshera: It is a Hindu festival. It is a nine-day-long festival which will be celebrated with fervour and enthusiasm. One can witness the performances of Ramlila (a short version of the epic Ramayana) performed by a group of trained artisans. Many Hindus believe it to be an auspicious time to start a new venture or a project on this day.
The day also marks the return of the Pandava brothers from 14 years of exile as depicted in the stories of Mahabharata. On this day tall effigies of the demon king Ravana, his brother Kumbakarna and his son Meghanath will be set up and burnt in big fields witnessed by a large gathering of people.
