Bank Holidays in October 2024 in Uttarakhand

In October, the Uttarkhand government have announced for 2024, a total of four holidays apart form the four Sundays. Bank holidays for the month are declared on October 2nd, on account of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti; October 12th, the second week of Saturday as bank holiday; October 13th, on account of Vijaya Dashami and October 26, the fourth week of Saturday as Bank Holiday in Uttarkhand for 2024.

All the banks in Uttarkhand will remain closed on the above-mentioned days. The banks will not perform the usual functioning these days. All the banks including Canara Bank, State Bank of India, Allahabad Bank, and Andhra Bank will remain closed during the bank holidays in Uttarkhand in October 2024.

Vijaya Dashami: It is a Hindu festival. This is the last day of the Navaratri festival, which is celebrated for a period of nine nights. During these nine -days, people celebrate the festival by showcasing a wonderful collection of dolls which will be arranged in a particular order and it is called Bommala Koluvu. The day marks the victory of good over evil because it is on this day, the goddess Durga kills the demon King Mahishasura. During the Navratri festival, Sreevari Brahmotsavam will be held in the abode of Lord Venkateshwara at Tirumala. It starts on the second day after Mahalaya Amavasya and it ends on the Vijaya Dasami day.
