In September, the Andhra Pradesh government announced holidays on the following days. September 6, on account of Janmashtami; September 9, the second week of Saturday as a Bank Holiday; September 18, on account of Ganesh Chaturthi; September 23, the fourth week of Saturday as a Bank Holiday; September 28, on account of Maulud Nabi.

All the banks in Andhra Pradesh will remain closed on the above-mentioned days. The banks will not perform the usual functioning these days. All the banks including Tamilnad Mercantile Bank Limited, ICICI Bank, Bank of Baroda, ICICI Bank, and Central Bank of India will remain closed during the bank holidays.
Vinayaka Chavithi/ Ganesh Chaturthi: It is a Hindu festival. It is celebrated to commemorate the birth of Lord Ganesha. The festival is celebrated ranging from seven to ten days. The idols of Lord Ganesha will be installed either in houses or in public places or in hugely decorated pandals. The puja begins on the first day wherein the idol of Lord Ganesha will be placed on a pedestal symbolizing a throne. Rituals will follow the puja that a priest will usually perform. Sweets, flowers, and fruits will be offered to god during the festival day. Ganesha stuti will be recited on the day to appease the god. After ten days of worshipping Lord Ganesha in the form of an idol, the idol will be immersed in a lake and it is believed that the god will return to the heavenly abode.
Eid-e-Milad/ Maulud Nabi: It is a Muslim festival. The day marks the birth of Prophet Muhammad. People clean and decorate the mosque and hold grand processions to mark the event. Mouthwatering dishes will be prepared and shared with friends and relatives on this day.
Poor people will be gifted with new clothes, money, and food on this day.
