Gandhi Hospital in Tehran was struck on the second day of operations, with its in-vitro fertilisation clinic taking a direct hit. By April 3, the Iranian Red Crescent had reported 307 health and medical facilities damaged nationwide. The Pasteur Institute of Iran — the country's oldest biomedical research centre — was struck in late April, causing damage estimated at over $20 million. The WHO confirmed multiple attacks on healthcare infrastructure, warning of a coming collapse in essential medical services.
