The company was incorporated on 6th January 1987 under the name Zodiac Leasing Private Limited in the State of Maharashtra at Bombay. The name was subsequently changed to Zodiac-JRD-MKJ Private Limited vide special resolution passed at the EGM held on 7th September 1992. The Company was converted to a Public Limited Company on 6th October 1992 vide special resolution passed at the EGM.

The necessary certificate of change of name from Zodiac-JRD-MKJ Private Limited to Zodiac-JRD-MKJ Limited has already been obtained vide certificate dated 22.10.1992 from the Registrar of Companies, Maharashtra.
