Maruti to recall over 13,000 car units

On 6th April 2011, India"s largest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki announced the recall of over 13,000 units of Dzire,Swift, and Ritz. The recall was undertaken because of a possible faulty engine part In a statement the Companysaid, "Maruti Suzuki India today announced that it will inspect the 'Connecting Rod Bolt' for 13,157 units of SwiftDzire, Swift and Ritz diesel cars with engines manufactured between November 13, 2010, and December 4, 2010,"

 

Out of the total car units which are recalled, 6,841 units are of Swift followed by 4,505 units of Swift Dzire and 1,811units of Ritz. In order to keep its goodwill among customers , Maruti Suzuki further added that, all the recalled carengines will be inspected and if any defect is located all the engine components will be replaced free of cost .
