Kalpataru Power Transmissions Q4 FY’11 standalone net profit rose 7.28% to Rs. 61.58 crore

KPTL, net profit rise 7.28%
Kalpataru Power Transmissions Ltd. announced its results for the quarter and year ended March 31, 2011. Standalone net profit rose 7.28%, from Rs. 57.4 crore in the fourth quarter of previous year to Rs. 61.58 crore in the corresponding quarter this year. Operating income grew from Rs. 852.20 crore to Rs. 884.61 crore.

Stock adjustment expenses fell 91.50% to Rs. 3.79. Employee expenses increased 40.58%, from Rs. 40.93 crore to Rs. 57.54 crore. Taxation increased marginally from Rs. 17.25 crore to Rs. 17.46 crore. Net profit margin moved up from 6.78% to 6.86%.

Taking the twelve month period into account, the standalone net profit stood at Rs. 190.59 crore, up 11.81% from last year"s value of Rs. 170.46 crore. Operating income grew 10.83%, from Rs. 2,597.37 crore to Rs. 2,878.69 crore.

Raw material expenses moved up 11.53% to Rs. 1,276.80 crore and employee expenses increased from Rs. 161.76 crore to Rs. 193.42 crore. Taxation moved up 15.54%, from Rs. 57.14 crore to Rs. 66.02 crore. EPS decreased 3.42%, from Rs. 12.86 to Rs. 12.42.

On the consolidated front for the twelve months period, net profit stood at Rs. 200.06 crore, up 12.60% from last year"s value of Rs. 177.68 crore. Operating income grew 8.98%, from Rs. 4,008.88 crore to Rs. 4,368.73 crore. Employee expenses increased 24.59%, from Rs. 263.2 crore to Rs. 327.93 crore.

Taxation increased 11.91%, from Rs. 69.09 crore to Rs. 77.32 crore. EPS declined 80.30%, from Rs. 67.05 to Rs. 13.21.

The Board of Directors of the Company recommended payment of dividend of Rs. 1.50 (75%) per equity share of Rs. 2 each to the shareholders of the Company.
