Five tech predictions for 2012
It is almost impossible to make predictions; they hardly ever come true, who else would know this better than Nostradamus! So a lot of what you are going to read might not see the light of the day in 2012. But, that shouldn't stop us from reading and writing about the better and more technologically advanced future. Lets shake the crystal ball and look at what 2012 has in store for us:

Light Field camera. It is called the Lytro Camera, world's first consumer light field camera. It is the biggest thing to happen to photography since digital camera saw the light of the day. Lytro cameras will give you the ability to change the focus of the picture after you've clicked it!

Chip Wars. The once dominating chip maker is on a back foot with no presence in the mobile and tablet market. With analysts predicting end of PC era, Intel has to come back and face the ARM based CPU's.

Windows 8. While the world was busy watching iOS and Android play hard, Microsoft quietly came up with a completely new design for its phone and tablet plans. 2012 would be an exciting year for the Redmond based company. It is either make or break for them with Windows 8.

iPhone 5 and iPad 3. Consumers never know what to expect from Apple, but iPhone 5 and iPad 3 would not have Steve Jobs coming on to the stage and calling it “magical." 2012 would be a year the world would watch what Apple does without its leader. Will it continue its upward trajectory or fall back like it did in the year 1985?

Cloud. Cloud is going to get cloudy next year and could eventually replace our hunger for more and more gigabytes of disk space. With Google, Microsoft and Apple ready for a battle in the cloud, brighter days look certain.
