Telecom regulatory authority of India (Trai) in a report has pointed out that Aircel, Vodafone and Idea had the maximum number of disputes regarding phone billing during the last quarter of 2012.
Trai's quality of service benchmark requires that no more than 0.1 per cent of all bills raised by a company in a service area be disputed. Aircel, Vodafone, Idea, BSNL and MTS' percentage of billing disputes ranges between 0.11 per cent and 2.42 per cent. The worst is Aircel's 2.42 per cent in Maharashtra. Aircel's post-paid bills in Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Kolkata, Karnataka, Punjab and Rajasthan had dispute percentages in the range of 0.11 per cent to 0.25 per cent.
The report also revealed that faulty billings by telecom operators for post-paid services increased to 5.68 per cent during the quarter from 4.37 per cent in the quarter before it.
The companies have not made any comments so far.
