Jet Airways plans to buy single-aisle planes from Boeing

Jet Airways, amid seeking to operate code-share flights with Etihad Airways, is planning to buy single-aisle aircraft from Boeing, connecting as many as 23 domestic destinations with Abu Dhabi by 2016.

K G Vishwanath, senior vice-president for commercial finance and investor relations said, "We are contemplating placing another round of Boeing 737 orders."

The airline, which is awaiting regulatory approval for its 24 per cent stake sale to the Etihad, is currently taking deliveries of 46 Boeing 737-800s from an earlier order.
