The Indian rupee appreciated 0.74 paise to Rs 78.2500 against the euro on Friday after INSEE said that French Consumer Confidence fell to 78, from 79 in the preceding month adding to signs that the 17-member Eurozone economy is still weak as the debt turmoil continues. At MCXSX, EURINR for July 2013 contract traded at Rs. 78.2500 per euro, rupee appreciated 0.74 paise against euro, after opening at Rs. 78.6300 against the previous closing price of Rs. 78.8300. Rupee rose to Rs. 78.2075 with a business volume of 19168 lots till the trading (At 12.38 PM today).
At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), EURUSD future for June 2013 contract traded at US$1.3051 per euro (USD depreciated by 0.09 per cent against EUR) and GBPUSD future for June 2013 contract traded at US$1.5251 per pound (USD appreciated by 0.07 per cent against GBP) at 12.35 PM today.
S&P CNX NIFTY, at NSE, was trading at 5,791.25, up by 1.92 per cent, after opening at 5,749.50 against the previous closing of 5,682.35. It touched the intra-day high of 5,794.70 till the trading. (At 12.33 PM today).
