Sensex was up 240 points hitting a new lifetime high of 26,352 points, while the Nifty scaled a new lifetime high of 7863 points helped by gains in index heavyweights including Axis Bank, Tata Motors, BHEL, Tata Power and Cipla among others.
The BSE MIDCAP was at 9141.82, up by 133.97 points or by 1.49 per cent, while the BSE SMLCAP was at 10012.48, up by 188.42 points or by 1.92 per cent.
