Global Markets Rally as Republicans Gain Control of Senate; Dow at Record High

Global Markets rallied in trade with the US Dow Jones closing at a new record high of 17,484.53, of up 100.69.

European stocks also surged last night while most of Asia was trading with gains. On Thursday, The Japanese Nikkei was up 0.35 per cent, the Singapore's Strait times ws up 0.18 per cent, while the Seoul Composite was up 0.22 per cent.

Last night European markets rallied along with the US markets with the German Dax, UK's FTSE and the French CAC seeing sharp gains.

Meanwhile, analysts say that US markets could rise, as investors focus on U.S. jobless claims data and ahead of the October jobs report.

Meanwhile, Indian markets are closed on account of a public holiday.
