Shares of Bharti Airtel rose nearly 2 per cent in early trade on Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on report that the government may include one slot for 3G services in spectrum auction.
Incremental spectrum will ease pressure on incumbents witnessing licence renewals, according to analysts.
The shares of company rose as much as 1.86 per cent to trade at Rs 350.10 a piece on the BSE.
In a similar fashion, shares of the company rose 1.97 per cent to Rs 350.05 a piece on National Stock Exchange.
Meanwhile, the broader benchmark Sensex was quoting at 27,587.03, down 14.98 points or 0.05 per cent at 11.15 hours.
