HDFC rises as it joins Rs 2-lakh crore market cap club

Shares of HDFC rose nearly 1 per cent in early trade on Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) with the market value of the country's largest mortgage financier company crossing the Rs two lakh crore mark today.

The company is at the tenth positions in overall market capitalization (m-cap) ranking, joins ICICI Bank, Coal India, State Bank of India (SBI), Infosys, HDFC Bank, Reliance Industries, ITC, ONGC and TCS which have m-cap of more than Rs 2 lakh crore each.

The shares of company rose 0.47 per cent to trade at Rs 1027 a piece on the BSE.

In a similar fashion, shares of the company rose 0.63 per cent to Rs 1027.40 a piece on National Stock Exchange.

Meanwhile, the broader benchmark Sensex was quoting at 28,877.65, up 92.98 points or 0.32 per cent at 11.25 hours.
