Tata Power Solar commissions 1.25 MW plant at SASTRA

Tata Power Solar, one of the pioneering solar manufacturers in the world announced that it has commissioned 1.25 MW rooftop projects at SASTRA University's Thanjavur and Kumbakonam campuses in Tamil Nadu as part of SASTRA's green energy efforts.

The company said in a release, "SASTRA has inked a pact with Tata Power Trading Company (TPTCL) under which Tata Power will sell electricity generated from the facilities to the university for 15 years"


The plants which are expected to offset 30 per cent of its total power consumption will produce nearly 20 lakh units of power in a year.

Moreover, the plants with in-built grid interactive string inverters will reduce over 1,600 tonne of carbon dioxide emission.
