GlaxoSmithkline Consumer Healthcare Ltd has reported 19.1 per cent rise in the net profit at Rs 155.01 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2015.
The company, which sells Horlicks and Boost health foods, had clocked a net profit of Rs 130.12 crore in the same quarter a year ago, the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
In Q1 FY16, total income of the company grew 8.7 per cent to Rs 1099.92 crore from Rs 1011.73 crore in the corresponding quarter last fiscal.
Commenting on the results, GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare Limited, Managing Director, Manoj Kumar, said, "The first quarter has begun on a positive note - Horlicks and Boost are among the top three health food drinks in the country. We continue to stay ahead of the category, increasing our market share and volumes. Our growth is a reflection of distribution expansion, enhanced marketing campaigns as we continue to bring nutrition to suit each lifestyle and support all lifecycle.
Meanwhile, shares of the company were trading at Rs 6315 a piece, down 0.41 per cent from the previous close at 11:13 hours on BSE.
