The Indian benchmark index was trading in green in the morning session of day"s trade as a result of rise in auto stocks led by Bajaj Auto followed by Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Motherson Sumi Systems and Mahindra & Mahindra.
Dishman Pharmaceuticals & Chemicals was trading higher after the company fixed May 03, 2016 as the record date for entitlement of bonus shares to shareholders in the ratio of 1:1.
“The management committee of board of directors of the company have approved and fixed May 03, 2016 as the record date for the purpose of deciding the members who shall be eligible for allotment of the bonus shares in the proportion of 1 bonus equity share of Rs 2 each, for every 1 fully paid-up Equity share of Rs 2 each," Dishman Pharma said in a filing.
At 10:39AM BSE SENSEX was at 25912.02, up by 31.64 points or by 0.12 per cent while the NSE Nifty was at 7901.55, down by 10.5 points or by 0.13 per cent.
The BSE MIDCAP was at 11040.01, up by 30.71 points or by 0.28 per cent while the BSE SMLCAP was at 11104.27, up by 27.42 points or by 0.25 per cent.
The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bajaj Auto Ltd. (Rs. 2548.90,+2.12 per cent), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 360.80,+1.81 per cent), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 216.50,+1.71 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 3757.00,+1.44 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 416.00,+1.11 per cent), among others.
The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 877.55,-1.17 per cent), Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (Rs. 128.00,-0.81 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 826.55,-0.71 per cent), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1218.50,-0.64 per cent), Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 1142.05,-0.58 per cent), among others.
The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was strong. On BSE, out of total 2091 shares traded, 1136 shares advanced, 832 shares declined while123 were unchanged.
Among the sectoral indices on BSE, BSE Auto index was at 18679.04 up by 139.63 points or by 0.75 per cent. Bajaj Auto Ltd. (Rs. 2548.90,+2.12 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.
