SBI's associate bank State Bank of Mysore (SBM) said that the All India Bank Employees' Association (AIBEA) has called for a one-day nationwide strike on May 20, 2016 against merger of five associate banks of SBI with parent.
In a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange, the Bank said, "The All India Bank Employees' Association (AIBEA) has called for an all India bank strike, for one day on May 20, 2016."
Earlier this week, SBI proposed merger of five associate banks and newly created Bharatiya Mahila Bank with itself.
The bank said that, in the event of the strike taking place, the normal Banking operations in the Bank may get affected on May 20, 2016.
Meanwhile, shares of State Bank of Mysore were trading at Rs 440.40 apiece, down 1.21 per cent, from previous close on BSE at 10:50 hours.
