Country's largest car maker Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSI) has reported 19.5 per cent rise in its total sales in April 2017 at 1,51,215 units, as compared to 1,26,569 units during the same period last year.
Maruti Suzuki said that its domestic sales jumped by 23.4 per cent during the month of April 2017 to 1,44,492 units, as against 1,17,045 units in the same month a year ago.
Further, the company's sales of mini segment cars, including, Alto and WagonR, too rose to 38,897 units as compared to 31,906 units in the year-ago month, car maker said in a statement.
The company said it's sales of the compact segment comprising Swift, Celerio, Ignis, Baleno, Dzire, Dzire Tour climbed by 39.1 per cent to 63,584 units in April this year as against 45,700 units last year.
MSI said it has not sold its super compact Dzire Tour during April this year while it has sold 3,173 units in April 2016.
The sales of company's mid-sized sedan Ciaz surged 23.2 per cent at 7,024 units. The company had sold 5702 units of the car in April 2016.
The company's export during the April 2017, however, fell by 29.4 per cent to 6,723 units, from 9524 units in 2015-16 fiscal.
Meanwhile, shares of the company ended Friday's trade at Rs 6,525.50 apiece, up 2.42 per cent, from previous close on BSE.
