The pioneer in the no-frill airline industry, Air Deccan, is slated to relaunch its operations this week and a few lucky can travel at an airfare of just Rs. 1. The airline is making a comeback with a tagline 'the common man takes to the skies again'. On December 22, the carrier's first flight will take off and travel from Nashik to Pune, Mumbai to Jalgaon and Nashik to Mumbai.
At first the airline will relaunch its operations from four base stations that include Delhi, Mumbai, Shillong and Kolkata and connect them to smaller cities in their vicinity. The airline founded in the year 2003 and later merged with Kingfisher stopped its operations owing to financial distress in the year 2012.
