Aircel To Discontinue Operations In Six Circles By January 30

All existing numbers to remain valid until the 10th of March 2018 if not already ported as directed by the telecom regulator. There have also been directions given to Aircel, not to reject any porting out requests of its subscribers who have been active subscribers for less than 90 days.

The Aircel Group had reportedly informed the regulator on 1st of December of its decision to surrender its license to operate in six circles, namely Gujarat, Maharashtra, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh (West) and Madya Pradesh as it failed to prevail in the existing competition in these states.

Aircel has to furnish subscriber wise information of all the pre-paid customers who could not port-out and unspent balance in their account by March 20, 2018, to TRAI.
