Reliance Jio Reports a Flat Q4 Profit Growth at 1.2%
Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd reported a standalone net profit of Rs 510 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 2018 which is a 1.2 percent rise in QoQ profit from Rs 504 crore in the previous quarter. In a media statement, it said that its operating revenue increased 3.6 percent to Rs 7,128 crore, while its operating profit was up by 2.5 percent to Rs 2,694 crore.
Jio's operating margin narrowed 110 basis points to 37.8 percent.
Reliance Jio has reportedly earned an average revenue per user (ARPU) of Rs 134 for the quarter ended March 2018. Its competitor Bharti Airtel saw its ARPU slip to Rs 116 for the same period.
Jio business revenue rose 3.6 percent to Rs 8,404 crore and its EBITDA margin fell to 37.8 from 38.2 percent for the fourth quarter. Its total wireless data traffic during the quarter was 506 GB, and total voice traffic was at 37,218 minutes, the company said in a statement. Jio's broadband subscriber base increased to 18.66 crore as of March 2018 from 16.01 crore as of December 2018.
