LPG Prices Down By Rs 100 in 5 Months, Claims Govt
After several reports of the alleged rise in LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) in the past few months were made, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has stated that there was, in fact, a fall of almost Rs 100.
In a statement, the ministry has clarified that the non-subsidized retail selling price of LPG in Delhi was down by Rs 96.50 from Rs 747 in December 2017 to Rs 650.50 in May 2018.
In further said that the prices of subsidized LPG, which affects most households, also experienced a downward trend. It was down from Rs 495.69 in the month of December 2017 to Rs 491.21 in May 2018.
Every household in India is entitled to a total of 12 LPG cylinders a year at a subsidized rate. This roughly comes to one LPG cylinder per month. Requirements beyond this limit will be sold at non-subsidized rates, which is same as the market prices.
