Sun Pharma Reports a Rise in Q4 Profit at Rs 1,376 Crore

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.'s reported a 6.93 percent rise in consolidated profit to Rs 1,375.62 crore for the fourth quarter of the financial year 2017-18. It was Rs 1,223.71 crore in the same period of the previous year.

In a regulatory filing, it reported a revenue from operations at Rs 6,997.10 crore, which is 2.23 percent lower than Rs 7,136.96 crore in the January-March 2017 period. Its year-on-year (YoY) net sales had also fallen by 2.2 percent to Rs 6,980 crore.

It was observed that its profit increased from a one-time tax gain of Rs 259 crore during the quarter under review.

The company's total revenue from operations was higher at Rs 2,283.18 crore against Rs 2,015.02 crore in 2017.

Sun Pharma's YoY operating income rose 8.8 percent to Rs 1,683.5 crore, while margin narrowed down to 24.1 percent from 24.8 percent.

Its net profit on standalone basis rose by 83.29 percent to Rs 176.26 crore in the fourth quarter 2018 period compared to Rs 96.16 crore in the same period last year.

Shares of Sun Pharma closed 1.32 percent (Rs 6.10) higher at Rs 468.95 on NSE (National Stock Exchange).
