Petrol, Diesel Prices Reduced Only by 1 Paise Says IOC
As the nation rejoiced over the 59 paise drop in fuel prices across the nation on Wednesday morning, the state-owned oil marketer Indian Oild Corporation Limited (IOC) informed that there had been an error in citing price and the prices were actually just reduced by 1 paise.
In the morning, the official website showed the price for petrol reduced by 60 paise to Rs 77.83 per litre in Delhi and diesel was down by 56 paise to Rs 68.75 per litre.
Petrol prices have now been corrected to Rs 78.42 per litre in Delhi, Rs 81.05 per litre in Kolkata, Rs 86.23 per litre in Mumbai and Rs 81.42 per litre in Chennai.

Diesel, on the other hand, is revised to Rs 69.30 per litre in Delhi, Rs 71.85 per litre in Kolkata, Rs 73.78 per litre in Mumbai and Rs 73.17 per litre in Chennai.

Prices across the country are reduced just by 1 paise. The drop in price is the first after the consistent increase for 16 straight days since 14 May. Petrol and Diesel prices were at their all-time high till Tuesday. Their rates were up by Rs 3.80 and Rs 3.38 a litre respectively in the 16 days hike that occurred after a halt for 3 weeks in the pre-Karnataka poll period.
