Arun Jaitley Takes Over Finance Minister Duties
On Thursday, the President of India has re-assigned duties of finance minister to Arun Jaitley after his position has been held in interim position by Piyush Goyal as the former went kidney transplant surgery on May 14.
The press release statement said, "The President of India, as advised by the Prime Minister, has directed to assign the portfolios of the Minister of Finance and Minister of Corporate Affairs to Shri Arun Jaitley".
Though during his recovery time, the minister has been found active on different social media site and has been voicing his concerns on issues such as NRC in Assam, No-confidence Motion in Parliament, Rafael fighter jet deal, and GST among others.
The minister will resume his duties after a three-month hiatus. As per reports, the minister's Delhi's North block is being renovated and sanitized to protect the minister from any kind of infection.
