Sales Of Maruti Suzuki Decline Most In Two Years
The auto sales have been hit due to a number of reasons in the month of August due to climatic conditions as well as severe flood in the state of Kerala and Karnataka. For Maruti Suzuki, the sales have declined for the second consecutive month and this time sales have touched two-year low.
In the previous month, the largest automobile manufacturer sold as many as 1.58 lakh units with a decline of 3.4% in comparison to the year-ago period.
The domestic sales fell by 2.8% to 1.47 lakh units in August. Also, at the same time, exports saw a decline by 10.4% to 10,489 units.
The sales in mini segment vehicles rose 1.3 percent to 35,895 units while the sales in compact segment fell 3.6 percent to 71,364 units.
Also the sales in utility vehicles segment fell 16.2 percent to 17,971 units. Sales in vans segment fell 1.9 percent to 13,663 units.
On the other hand, Ashok Leyland sales increase by 27% on a month on month basis. Experts have raised alarm over sales of auto vehicles in the coming times due to a host of factors.
