Mukesh Ambani Tops Forbes' List Of World's Richest Sports Team Owners
In the recent 'World's Richest Sports Team Owners 2019' list released by Forbes magazine, the chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), Mukesh Ambani, made it to the top with a net worth of around $50 billion.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) team Mumbai Indians was bought by Ambani for over $100 million through RIL's 100 percent subsidiary IndiaWin Sports. The team had won the IPL crown in 2013, 2015 and 2017.

The co-founder of Red Bull energy drink company is the majority owner of Auto racing team Red Bull-Toro Rosso Honda, Formula One team Red Bull Racing and MLS club New York Red Bulls. With a net worth of $18.9 billion, this Austrian billionaire holds 49 percent shares of the company he co-founded.

This German businessman earned his wealth from software developer SAP, a company he started with four of his colleagues (from IBM) in 1972. He is a majority owner of an American ice hockey team called San Jose Sharks.
5. Roman Abramovich
The Russian-Israeli billionaire with a net worth of $12.4 billion owns stakes in metal companies Evraz and Norilsk Nickel. He is a majority owner of the Chelsea football club in the English Premier League (EPL) that has won 5 Premier League titles, 5 FA Cups, 3 League Cups and 2 European trophies, including the Champions League in the last 15 years.
