2 Indians In Top 50 Of The Instagram Rich List 2019
Celebrities have been known to make a sizeable portion of their income from endorsing products for brands, however, the mediums used to promote have changed over the years. With a massive userbase of over 1 billion, the social media app Instagram has become an engaging tool for brands to place their ads.
Besides advertisements, brands also pay famous personalities to post about their product on social media.
Hopper HQ, an Instagram planner and scheduling tool company released its third annual Instagram Rich List last week. The list ranks celebrities on the how much they earn per post and makes the analysis based on audience engagement, number of followers and frequency of posts.
For the year 2019, while the earnings have been shown to be the highest ever, the top 50 includes two Indian personalities- namely Priyanka Chopra and Virat Kohli.
19. Priyanka Chopra
Ranked at the 19th position, Priyanka Chopra charges USD 271,000 for each sponsored Instagram post, according to Hopper HQ. Giving her 43.4 million followers an insight into her personal life, the Bollywood actress is very active on the platform.
23. Virat Kohli
Captain of the Indian cricket team was awarded the most "Engaged Account of the Year" earlier this year. He allows his 38.4 million followers a sneak-peak into training sessions and personal life.
According to Hopper HQ, the cricketer charges USD 196,000 per sponsored post.
5. Selena Gomez
The American singer and actress, who has been working with brands like Puma and Coach, was ranked in the fifth position on the list and earns USD 886,000 for each of her sponsored Instagram posts. She has 153 million followers on the platform.
4. Kim Kardashian
TV personality and businesswoman Kim Kardashian charges USD 910,000 per sponsored Instagram post and has a follower base of nearly 143 million on the social media platform.
3. Cristiano Ronaldo
The most followed person in the world on Instagram has 173 million followers and charges USD 975,000 per post. The Portuguese soccer player has been endorsing sportswear and accessories brand Nike for a long time.
2. Ariana Grande
The Grammy-award winning singer gets USD 996,000 per post. She is also the most followed woman on Instagram with over 158 million followers.
1. Kylie Jenner
Half-sister of Kim Kardashian, the 21-year old businesswoman and socialite earns USD 1,266,000 per post. She has retained her position in the list for the second year in a row. Besides promoting her own line of cosmetics, her follower base of 139 million won her an endorsement for Adidas sneakers.
