Bharti Airtel Q4: Net Profit Declines To Rs 759 Crore; ARPU Falls To Rs 145


Bharti Airtel announced a consolidated net profit of Rs 759 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2021, on Monday (Q4FY21). During the same time period a year ago, the company stood Rs 5,237 crore. The company's total revenue in the fourth quarter was Rs 25,747 crore, up 17.6% on a comparable basis and 11.9 percent YoY on a reported basis.


For the quarter, basic earnings per share were Rs 1.39, compared to Rs (-)9.69 in Q4FY20.

In October-December, the company's average revenue per user (ARPU ) dropped to 145 from 166. Arpu, on the other hand, increased from 135 in the March quarter of fiscal year 2020.

The company's consolidated earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) for the quarter under review were Rs 12,583 crore, with an EBITDA margin of 48.9%, an improvement of 647 basis points year on year.

According to Airtel's filing, the Sunil Mittal-led company's India business generated revenue of Rs 18,338 crore in the March quarter, up 17.5 percent from the previous quarter.

Vittal said of the challenges posed by the second wave of coronavirus: "In such times, we recognize the importance of our role as a telecom operator in keeping our customers and country connected. Our priority remains to provide uninterrupted services and a positive end-user experience while maintaining the safety of our employees and partners."


On the National Stock Exchange, Airtel's stock fell 2.25 percent to Rs 547.80 per share.
