Cipla Gets Listed Into Dow Jones Sustainability Index For Emerging Market
The domestic pharma behemoth Cipla has been named to the S&P Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) for Emerging Markets for the year 2021. S&P Dow Jones, one of the world's premier index providers, manages the DJSI family of indices. For the year, the Emerging Markets Index includes 108 businesses from 12 emerging economies.
Only the top-ranking firms in terms of Corporate Sustainability within each industry are included in the DJSI, which is one of the world's most reputable and widely accepted sustainability benchmarks. S&P Dow Jones, one of the world's premier index providers, manages the DJSI family of indices.
Cipla was ranked in the top decile in the pharmaceutical business in the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment as of November 12, 2021, with a ranking of 93 percentile in the industry, meaning 93 percent of companies had an ESG Score of equal or lower.
In the fiscal year ended March 31, 2021, the company generated a ROE of 13.12 percent, surpassing its five-year average of 10.41 percent. Stock returned 76.81 percent over three years, compared to 69.57 percent for the Nifty 100 index. Over a three-year period, the stock returned 76.81 percent, while Nifty Pharma returned 49.42 percent to investors.
