Now Update Mobile Number On Your Aadhaar Card At Your Doorstep: Here’s How


With the assistance of a postman, residents can now change their mobile numbers on their Aadhaar cards at their porch. Postmen will be able to update the mobile numbers of Aadhaar cardholders under an alliance between the India Post Payment Bank (IPPB) and the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). A chain of 650 India Post Payments Bank, 1.46 lakh postmen, and Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) would provide the new functionality.

This initiative would assist all Aadhaar holders across the nation in updating their registered mobile number at their doorstep, allowing them to take advantage of a variety of Aadhaar-related services available online through the UIDAI portal. J Venkatramu, the IPPB's Managing Director and CEO, declared in a report on Tuesday that "The mobile update service of UIDAI through the ubiquitous and accessible network of post offices, postmen and GDS will help in actualising IPPB's vision of serving the underserved and unbanked areas, and bridging the digital divide."

Regarding the same Ministry of Communications has also stated via a recent tweet that "Now a resident Aadhaar holder can get his mobile number updated in Aadhaar by the postman at his doorstep. IPPB Online launched today a service for updating mobile numbers in Aadhaar as a Registrar for UIDAI."
