Petrol, Diesel Prices Static For 16th Consecutive Day


On Monday, August 2, diesel and petrol prices in the four metro cities remained steady for the 16th day in a row. According to Indian Oil Corporation data, petrol prices in the national capital remained stable at 101.84 per litre and diesel prices remained unaltered at 89.87 per litre. Petrol costs 107.83 rupees per litre in Mumbai, while diesel costs 97.45 rupees per litre.


Following assembly elections in states and union territories such as West Bengal, Kerala, Assam, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry on 4 May, petrol prices have been rising across the country.

Petrol, Diesel Prices Static For 16th Consecutive Day

Oil marketing organisations such as Bharat Petroleum, Indian Oil, and Hindustan Petroleum modify the prices of petrol and diesel. Every day at 6 a.m., the new pricing go into effect. Because of differences in value-added taxes, local and freight charges, and other factors, fuel prices vary by state and city.

Brent petroleum futures skidded 81 cents, or 1%, to $74.60 a barrel. Following are the costs of diesel and petrol within the country:
